The original was so good. Why waste all of this talent on a remake? No new stories about witches. Remakes deserve no attention. They seem to go the disney/cutesy route. i remember the original used to creep me out, especially the girl trapped in the painting. that gave me nightmares. it's so simple and no jumpscares but seeing the girl trapped in the painting just scares me like nothing else ever did.

It's like Nanny McPhee if it was set in the same universe as Everybody Hates Chris.

The original was amazing. Just thinking about it gives me chills. When that lady transforms and she turns into this grotesque monster and starts smelling the child. Good stuff. Oh how many nightmares this movie gave me. I loved how the grand high witch in the beginning said What's going on? Idk but I loved how she said it. 0:38 That cute little mouse 🐭. I can't believe the movie has been revived, also who's the 3rd mouse. I feel like i read this in a book as a kid lol. Rose Red Dog Soldiers Lake Mungo Seriously, it's like you know exactly what underrated horror gems I want to see video reviews on and then you make them. I don't know how you do it. Lake Mungo is a chilling experience. If you like horror and haven't seen this movie, DON'T watch the video! You don't want to ruin an unforgettable experience you'll get going into this movie blind. I hope this has the same ending as the original movie rather than the book's ending. Everybody hates Chris Halloween movie edition. Favorite invasion film is probably Mars Attacks. Probably the original 'The Thing' for my favourite invasion movie, although 'They Live' is a close second and with a decent revisit with actors instead of wrestlers I'm sure this would make a decent story/movie. 'The Thing' is a film populated by real characters, that behave like they would in the scenario they are dropped in, no doubt the effects show the limitations given when it was made (like Jaws) but you can't deny the atmosphere and tension it creates. The Body Snatchers film is good but I just can't see it working today. The atmosphere is there if you are willing to suspend belief in a seed pod becoming a human in a short space of time and you are willing to allow this scenario to take it's time to play out. The first time I watched it the end did get under my skin and had quite an effect but if I could get my kids off their phones for long enough to watch it they would laugh me out of the room.

I love me some Octavia Spencer and Hathaway doesn't look too bad as the Grand High Witch but Chris Rock's narration gives me an Everybody Hates Chris vibe which takes me out of it a bit. The presentation gives me a weird vibe akin to American Horror Story which I don't think quite fits the intimate nature of Dahl's original tale. But you've also got Zemekis and Del Toro working on it so I'm cautiously optimistic.
